Big Brother: Omar and Rhianna’s Row Sparks Calls for His Removal

Omar’s confrontation with Rhianna prompted chants for him to leave the house, while Big Brother said housemates are monitored and welfare is prioritised.

Big Brother: Omar and Rhianna’s Row Sparks Calls for His Removal

The defining moment in Monday night’s Big Brother episode wasn’t simply another clash between Omar and Rhianna. It was the way their argument escalated after she tried to end their on-and-off relationship, leaving viewers calling for Omar to be removed from the house.

The pair, both 21, have clashed repeatedly during the series. This time, Rhianna said she didn’t like how Omar spoke to her. He told her to “f**k off”, and she said she wanted to stop seeing him because she couldn’t see the relationship going anywhere.

His response sharpened the confrontation. “You’ve really f***ed me off by saying what you said,” he told her. When Rhianna said she didn’t want to continue the conversation that night, Omar shouted: “You don’t want to do it tonight but I can’t sleep on it. I am not a loser!”

The exchange also played out beyond that one argument. When Rhianna tried to speak with him later, Omar ignored her. She told Yasmin that his changing responses were making her question herself: “I don’t know what’s wrong with Omar, but it’s literally making me feel like I’ve constantly been doing something wrong.” She added that his mood was making her feel as if she were “going crazy”.

In another moment, Omar approached her bed and whispered: “Do me a favour, I know you’re upset but don’t talk about me.” A conversation in the storeroom ended with Rhianna in tears. As she covered her face, Omar told her not to cry, then said: “Look at me, don’t look away from me.” Big Brother then asked Rhianna to go to the diary room to check on her well-being.

That sequence helps explain why the reaction has gathered force. Viewers watching a filmed argument can’t see the full private context between the two housemates, and the programme presents only the moments included in the episode. But the words and exchanges shown were enough to prompt chants of “get out” during the live show and repeated demands online for Omar’s removal.

Several viewers described Omar’s behaviour as emotionally abusive, toxic or disturbing. One X user, Criostoir, called for him to receive a warning. Sunny wrote that they would stop watching if Big Brother didn’t remove him, while Different argued that younger viewers should not take his conduct as acceptable. Rina said the interactions were uncomfortable to watch; another user, elliceev, called Omar “extremely dangerous”. Those are viewers’ assessments, not findings established by the programme.

The reaction has also spread to TikTok. Influencer and radio presenter Dean McCullough said Omar “needs to be removed from the Big Brother house”. He described the scenes as unacceptable and called Omar’s treatment of Rhianna “abusive and toxic”. TikToker Cam also criticised Omar, and commenters said they had complained to Ofcom.

ITV said housemates receive Respect and Inclusion training and a briefing from the Big Brother senior team before entering the house. The broadcaster added that housemates are monitored around the clock and that instances of inappropriate behaviour are addressed. It said a dedicated welfare team is available to support housemates before, during and after the programme.

Omar remains in the house, with the next episode due to air as usual. That leaves the programme with a decision viewers are already debating: whether the scenes call for a further response, and how the show’s stated welfare support is reflected in what happens next. The coming episode will show whether the conflict continues or the relationship ends with the distance Rhianna asked for.

The row lands in a season that has already drawn criticism over other contestants. Rochelle has faced criticism over her interactions with Black housemates Lynx and Johanne, while other contestants have been criticised over remarks viewers called transphobic. For now, though, the immediate focus is on Omar and Rhianna: what was shown has prompted a strong audience response, and the next episode will reveal how the house handles the fallout.
